Hey everyone! How are you doing? How has your week been? I am still on a high from seeing Beyonce this weekend. Truly a life-changing experience, I am always in awe of her attention to detail and all-around dedication to excellence outside of the fact that she is super talented! Anyway, enough about Beyonce.
Let’s get into it.
Last week I went on a hike in part of the South Downs in Sussex, with my friend and honestly spending over 2hours just walking and disconnecting from the world was just what I needed! It’s also something I’ve been planning to do for ages - this is your sign to do things! Whatever they might be.
While I was walking I had many a thought and so today’s newsletter is everything my Hike taught me.
Onwards and upwards always - more than halfway through our Hike, Naomi and I came to a very steep part of the Downs and all we wanted to do was turn back or find another way out, I even contemplated walking down into the valley lol. After realising that the only way out of this situation was just by going through it we changed our perspectives and started hyping each other up! Honestly, this made me think of how we all navigate these 20-something years - sometimes things are smooth sailing and then you reach an incline and you have to find it within yourself to push past your doubt, fear, and confusion and instead change your perspective and find some support.
Staying present is so important - the views were beautiful and even though we had our phones to take pictures, we took it all in and I’m so glad!
Naomi and I decided to just follow a random path most of the time, we had gotten general directions at the beginning but quickly forgot everything we had been told and decided to trust our instincts and not-so-great map navigation skills. These moments in particular made me think of my process of navigating my adult life so far, many times I have asked for direction and gotten it but I quickly realise the real thing isn’t as straightforward. It reminded me that your life is your own and so you have to learn to trust that you will find your way no matter what.
Rest is important- we took breaks and were better off for it. You can’t expect to keep going full steam ahead and not get tired, listening to your body is so essential
Go at your own pace - we weren’t the only ones hiking that day but we kept our pace and finished in our own time, there was no comparing our journey to the people we met along the way. This meant that when we did finish we felt fulfilled, happy and very proud of ourselves. Comparison is so easy these days but I’m constantly reminding myself to trust the timing of my life and you should too.

i really loved this email. it made me have a rethink and slow down to take things at my own pace. i am on my own journey and i dont need to compare myself with others.
Awesome!
